May 2020 – As part of our long-term commitment to supporting global medical device manufacturing, STERIS’s network of microbiological testing laboratories has continued to grow over the past year. New and expanded laboratories in the United States, Italy, and Germany broaden our capacity to deliver a range of testing services that support our Customers’ contract sterilization needs.
Our new laboratory in Libertyville, Illinois, USA is located on the same campus as the Radiation Technology Center and the Radiation TechTeam®, providing Customers with a comprehensive offering to support their ISO 11137 validations.
The integration of the analytical packaging and product validation services at our Galway, Ireland facility continues, and we are excited to offer these specialized and critical services to our global STERIS Customer base.
The rollout of our new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) continues and is scheduled to go live for Customers in Germany, UK, Ireland, and USA this year. LIMS is being deployed to improve the Customer experience with faster reporting and greater tracking visibility. These locations join our laboratories in the Netherlands that have already integrated the LIMS.
At the end of last year we were pleased to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation for the new laboratory in Tullamore, Ireland. This laboratory is now fully operational and offers increased capacity and modernized testing facilities for our Irish Customer base.
Also late last year, we announced the updated branding for the global STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) offering, which now includes our testing and validation services. Our Customers can now visit steris-ast.com to view our entire range of sterilization, testing and validation, and technical support services in one location.
