December 2020 – STERIS is pleased to announce the completed expansion of its existing Bradford, UK gamma processing site to include a dedicated Radiation Technology Centre (RTC), specializing in the processing of non-routine samples.
The RTC provides a state-of-the-art, streamlined service through:
- Equipment capabilities: turntables with adjustable dose rates adjacent to a precision, optimized cobalt-60 source
- Processing methodologies: specialized operational qualification focused on providing precise dose ranges in rapid turnaround times, as well as individual sample assessment for optimum orientation in front of the source
- Expertise of our people: dedicated Associates trained in radiation physics who are focused on the processing of non-routine samples
Our dedicated team at the Bradford RTC are here to guide Customers through the sterilization validation process for gamma processing. The new RTC provides gamma processing Customers with comprehensive product validation and assessment services, including:
- Dose establishment
- Dose verification
- Product feasibility assessments
The addition of this dedicated testing facility furthers our commitment of ensuring patient safety through a technology-neutral service offering that includes radiation and gas processing options, now and well into the future.
In addition to the RTC in Bradford, we support radiation testing services and medical device manufacturing in Europe through our existing gamma technology centres in Germany and France, E-beam technology centres in Germany and Ireland, and X-ray technology centre in Switzerland.
